David Borman for
Transylvania County Board of Education
My Commitments to Voters
STUDENTS, NOT POLITICS
The Board of Education needs to focus on ensuring better education for every student, not on divisive politics. You have my promise that I will not distract the Board from its work. No games, no sideshows, no egos.
FIX OUR SCHOOLS
It’s long past time that we put the will of the voters into action for Rosman Middle/High and Brevard High. Almost six years have passed without a single meaningful upgrade to either facility. That’s simply unacceptable, and I’ll work to break through the roadblocks.
RESPECT TEACHERS
Teachers are the lifeblood of our school system, and the Board should treat them that way. The Board should celebrate teachers, not slander them. I vow to give educators the dignity, respect, and attention that they deserve.
About me
I am the proud parent of two students in Transylvania County Schools. In 2019, my family and I moved to Brevard to pursue a way of life that was more meaningful and more connected to community. We found that and more here in North Carolina.
Currently, I work as the communications director for a nonprofit and volunteer my time with the Blue Devils Swim Club, a swim team organized by my wife and me to give hardworking middle schoolers an outlet for their swim passions.
Why I’m running
I am running to get our school board back to work for:
- Students,
- Families,
- and Educators
We need a school board that will focus on fixing our schools and recruiting teachers, not waging culture wars and playing politics.
A stronger Transylvania County starts with educating the next generation of citizens and leaders here and now, and I am ready to make that happen.

Can you chip in?
If you are able and willing, I’d appreciate your support with a contribution to my campaign. Our schools deserve a more effective board, and I hope you can make a donation to secure a board that works for you.
